Instagram finally rolled out the much-needed Business Tools to help businesses stand out on the platform, understand their audience better and reach out to them.
Instagram Business profiles are a great way for businesses to understand their audience behaviour and choose how they get in touch (call, text, email or directions with a tap of the contact button). Businesses can get insights about their followers and post performance, and also promote the posts, all within the Instagram mobile app. With the business profile, Social Media Managers no longer have to rely on third party tools to monitor demographic breakdown or impressions of each post.
If you’re a business on Instagram and want to leverage from the Instagram business tools, here’s how you can switch your Instagram profile to a Business profile.
Step 1: Go to your Instagram profile and click on the Settings icon on the top right.
Step 2: Tap on the Switch to Business Profile option, and then tap View Features to learn about the features that come with switching to a business profile.
- Connect to your Facebook page.
- Allow customers to reach you directly from a button on your profile by adding a contact number, email, and/or location.
- View insights to learn about your followers and see how your posts are performing.
- Create promotions on Instagram to grow your business.
Step 3: Log in with Facebook and connect to your Facebook Business page.
Step 4: Now Instagram will automatically pull information off your Facebook page and you can choose to use this information or remove it. Your audience will only see the information that you choose to provide.
Result: Voila! Your Instagram account is now a Business Profile!
Use any another account to see how the business profile will look like to your audience and tap the Contact button to see how the audience can reach out to you when they view your business profile.
And that’s about it! Once you post something on your business profile check out Insights which has details like impressions, reach, engagement, number of website clicks from your profile as well as get a breakdown of your followers according to demographics and the time/days they’re most likely to be online.
